Being only 3 miles from downtown Seattle Washington, Interlaken Park is an excellent choice for an outdoor adventure. The trail is within a ravine surrounded by tall trees giving it the illusion of being a secluded path while also maintaining ease of access due to its proximity to the city. Pathways vary in surface with some sections being paved while others are completely natural. There are also stone stairs and bridges sprinkled throughout the trail to add extra personality to the scenery.

Difficulty: Easy

The trail is wide in almost all areas with comforting shade and smooth surfaces which make it suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers.

Parking & Access

The trail being only 3 miles from downtown Seattle makes this an extremely accessible trail for anyone in the area. Parking is a bit more of a challenge since there are not formal parking spots available. Street parking or walking to the trail are the two best options.

Gear to Bring

Shoes with good grip and traction are recommended because sometimes the dirt portions of the trail can be slick after it has rained. Taking a GPS or using a related app on a phone will also help to keep track of your location on the trail.
